We identify human-factor and governance risk before it becomes a failure, breach, or investigation.
...to detect leadership, behavioural, and system vulnerabilities that conventional audits, dashboards, and controls routinely miss.
WHY CONVENTIONAL RISK APPROACHES MISS THE
REAL PROBLEM
Most organizational failures do not originate from malicious intent or individual misconduct. They emerge where human behaviour, leadership decision-making, and organizational systems interact under pressure.
In high-trust environments, risk accumulates quietly through:
-
Informal workarounds
-
Ambiguous authority
-
Degraded oversight
-
Decisions made without full information or psychological safety.
These conditions rarely trigger alerts. They sit outside the scope of technical audits, policy reviews, and performance dashboards, yet they shape outcomes long before a breach, investigation, or public inquiry forces attention.
WHAT WE DO
Aegis Strategy Group provides targeted risk, integrity, and governance diagnostics for organizations where failure carries legal, reputational, or public-interest consequences.
Our work typically involves:
-
identifying leadership and decision-making vulnerabilities,
-
examining how information is handled, escalated, or suppressed,
-
assessing whether governance structures function as intended under real conditions,
-
and producing defensible findings that can withstand internal, regulatory, or external scrutiny.
We do not deliver generic leadership training or culture programs. We conduct focused, evidence-based assessments that help organizations understand where risk is forming, why it persists, and what must change to prevent escalation.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Andrew Critchley
Founder & Principal — Human-Factor Risk, Investigative Integrity, and Governance
Andrew Critchley is a specialist in human-factor risk, investigative integrity, and governance failure within high-trust organizations.
With more than 25 years of international policing and public-sector experience, Andrew has led major investigations, overseen complex internal reviews, and advised on information governance involving sensitive, high-risk environments.
He is the only practitioner in Alberta to have successfully investigated and secured a criminal conviction under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA). This work provides rare, practical insight into how information is mishandled, how oversight systems fail, and how organizations can design processes that withstand scrutiny.

Andrew’s approach combines operational leadership, investigative discipline, and psychology-informed systems analysis. His work is defined by precision, discretion, and defensible reasoning.
